A shared cache returned valid MySQL bytes in the wrong format
Cloudflare traced rare empty MySQL results to two Hyperdrive components sharing a cache while storing responses with different negotiated protocol capabilities. A response valid for one reader could terminate early for another. The fix stores one canonical wire format and translates when serving clients. Cloudflare reports the empty-result problem disappeared and client-connection success reached 99.99%; MySQL support is now generally available.

Why it matters
Cache correctness includes the representation and reader’s protocol assumptions, not only the query key.
More context
Read the failure sequence if you build proxies or pooled database clients. Workers users can configure Hyperdrive against an existing MySQL-compatible database through the dashboard or Wrangler.
Keep in mind
The success figure is Cloudflare’s service observation after the fix, not a guarantee for every application or origin database.
