Go’s package API gives tools structured dependency context
The official pkg.go.dev API lets tools query package and module metadata, versions, symbols, importers and vulnerabilities without scraping documentation pages. Its read-only endpoints support explicit version selection. When a package could belong to more than one module, the API asks the client to resolve the ambiguity instead of silently choosing a module.

Why it matters
Relevant to engineers building dependency tools, editor integrations or agents that need precise Go package information.
More context
This May announcement is an older discovery. Try a package lookup against the documented v1beta endpoints and inspect the OpenAPI contract before integrating. The official reference CLI demonstrates pagination and formatting.
Keep in mind
The documented API is beta and the reference CLI interface is not stable. These are documented capabilities, not an integration tested by 1min.
