Pi 1.0 adds model routing extensions; Durable remains experimental
Pi has reached version 1.0, adding virtual-model extensions, deferred tool loading and transcript-aware changes to prompts and tools. Its release demo routes planning and implementation to different models. Alongside the stable terminal agent, Earendil released Pi Durable, a separate experimental framework that checkpoints agent tasks so applications can recover work after a process stops.

Why it matters
Builders can distinguish a stable interactive agent from the experimental machinery for long-running applications.
More context
Try Pi 1.0 with an existing supported model provider and one routing experiment. Pi Durable is available separately through npm, with memory, SQLite and JSONL storage; its recovery behavior deserves a small failure test before adoption.
Keep in mind
Both projects are MIT licensed, but inference access and costs remain separate. Durable is experimental; interrupted tools cannot always be safely rerun. 1min has not tested routing or recovery.
