Godot C++ extensions can share dependencies through Conan

Conan’s Godot guide shows how to package native C++ dependencies for a GDExtension without rebuilding the engine. The godot-cpp package exposes options for the target Godot API and build type, allowing matching binaries to be reused across projects. A particle simulation using flecs demonstrates the workflow, including the configuration that tells Godot which library to load.

Why it matters

Game developers can reuse existing C++ libraries without repeatedly hand-managing their builds.

More context

Try the linked example with Conan, CMake and an appropriate C++ toolchain. Choose the oldest Godot API you intend to support and build the correct debug or release target for each platform.

Keep in mind

This is a tutorial using available packages, not a universal compatibility guarantee. Native dependencies still need platform-compatible builds; 1min has not built or benchmarked the example.
