OBS Studio 33 changes plugin locations with a one-release transition
OBS Studio 33 overhauls plugin loading: first-party plugins move into a core directory, third-party installations get a new structure, and legacy third-party locations remain supported until OBS 34. It also substantially updates the browser framework used for sources and docks. Teams recording demos or running technical streams should test browser overlays and plugin-dependent scenes before adopting the release for a live session.

Why it matters
A migration window gives plugin authors and users time to update without treating temporary compatibility as permanent support.
More context
Try the released build for your platform with a copy of your scene setup and verify capture, audio and browser sources. The release also enables NVENC on Arm64 and makes Safe Mode leave the WebSocket server stopped.
Keep in mind
Ubuntu 24.04 support is removed in this release. A working legacy plugin location today does not establish OBS 34 compatibility, and third-party plugins may need their own updates.
