Atticus turns spoken Mac requests into local shortcuts or Claude tasks

Atticus uses Apple’s on-device speech recognition to turn voice requests into Mac actions. Simple commands such as opening apps bypass AI; more complex requests run through Claude Code using a paid Pro or Max plan. It needs macOS 26 or later. Local audio processing does not make everything local: enabled AI meeting summaries send transcript content to Claude.

Atticus

Why it matters

Separating routine shortcuts from model-driven tasks can reduce unnecessary latency and model usage.

More context

Watch this community project, or try a limited workflow after reviewing its permissions. Setup requires Apple command-line tools and Claude Code; Accessibility enables control of other apps. A launch date was not verified.

Keep in mind

The README describes sandboxing and confirmations, not an independent security audit; Claude tasks consume the subscribed plan’s allowance.
