Hister searches the contents of pages you already visited
Hister builds a personal search index from visited web pages and local files. A browser extension sends page contents to your own Hister server, where you can search through a web interface, terminal or MCP client. Unlike ordinary browser history, it indexes the text inside pages, so a remembered phrase can help recover a lost reference.
Hister
Why it matters
Useful for engineers repeatedly trying to find documentation or explanations they remember reading.
More context
Try a released binary locally, start the server and connect its Chrome or Firefox extension. Review indexing choices before importing history or local directories. This is an existing AGPL-licensed project discovery, not a verified launch today; the original date is unknown.
Keep in mind
The index can contain sensitive material. Optional semantic search sends text to the configured embeddings endpoint. 1min has not audited isolation or tested search quality.
