Cloudflare embeds Rust SQL transforms inside its Go log exporter
Cloudflare now filters, reshapes and redacts Logpush batches before export using Rust’s DataFusion engine inside its Go delivery service. The company reports about 3 milliseconds for a synthetic 5,000-row batch with a prepared transform. Crucially, failed transforms stop delivery instead of leaking unredacted records. The benchmark measures one transformation workload, not the complete delivery pipeline or every customer query.

Why it matters
A concrete Go–Rust integration shows how to avoid an extra network service without hiding ownership or failure handling.
More context
Try Transformer Studio with a matching NDJSON Logpush dataset. Arrow IPC carries batches across cgo; Rust owns the output allocation until Go copies and releases it. The generally available feature supports all plan tiers, with Logpush pricing applying.
Keep in mind
Persistent failures can disable a job, so operators must monitor transformation health rather than assume logs always arrive.
