CPython gives RISC-V an official support tier
CPython has added RISC-V as a tier-three supported platform after work on builds, architecture-specific fixes and testing on real hardware. The milestone gives the port an explicit place in Python’s support policy. Maintainers are still working toward earlier continuous-integration feedback and broader ecosystem support, so interpreter availability does not settle every package-compatibility question.

Why it matters
Relevant to engineers evaluating Python workloads on RISC-V boards and servers.
More context
This is an August catch-up item. The team asks developers with RISC-V hardware to build CPython, run real workloads and report failures. Try your application’s test suite and native dependencies before planning a deployment.
Keep in mind
Tier three is the announced level, not tier two. Better CI integration and architecture-specific performance optimizations are future work; this announcement does not guarantee support from third-party packages.
