Eight DGX Spark nodes add memory, but network topology still sets limits
NVIDIA has announced support for eight-node DGX Spark clusters, combining 1 TB of memory across machines. Its Spark-specific RoCEnante collective reduces communication steps by exchanging data directly among peers, which helps selected small-message inference workloads. That approach sends more data as the cluster grows, so it is not a universal NCCL replacement. NVIDIA Sync’s eight-node setup support is still planned for year-end.

Why it matters
Fitting a larger model in memory and serving it efficiently are separate cluster-design questions.
More context
Watch the setup tooling if you depend on assisted provisioning. Manual evaluation needs compatible nodes and networking; RoCEnante requires a switch-connected topology. The vendor’s eight-node Qwen3.8-27B NVFP4 test used concurrency one, 8,192 input tokens and 256 output tokens without speculative decoding.
Keep in mind
These results do not establish production performance at high concurrency. Ring networks can suit other workloads, while split cluster allocations and direct any-to-any communication require different connectivity.
