RemoveMacAI exposes the tradeoffs of removing local Apple models
RemoveMacAI uses a configuration profile to disable selected Apple Intelligence features and Apple’s asset service to remove downloaded models. It blocks model downloads by redirecting them to a closed local port, while leaving System Integrity Protection enabled. The tool includes status, dry-run and revert commands, but removing models also affects applications that depend on them.

Why it matters
Mac users can inspect what changes before trading local AI functionality for reclaimed storage.
More context
Watch or inspect the dry-run first on a supported Apple-silicon Mac running macOS 27. The project requires user approval of its profile; 27.0.1 needs version 0.2.3 or later. No exact publication date was verified.
Keep in mind
This is a third-party MIT-licensed utility, not an Apple feature. Foundation Models apps and other listed features stop working, and disk-space reporting can lag deletion. 1min has not installed it or verified reversibility.
