PostgreSQL’s fixed RHEL 10.0 and 9.6 repositories stop receiving updates

The PostgreSQL RPM maintainers are retiring repositories tied to RHEL 10.0 and 9.6 and moving their packages into the YUM archive. Rocky Linux and AlmaLinux installations on those minor versions are affected too. Archived packages remain available, including PostgreSQL 18, but will receive no further updates. The rolling EL-10 and EL-9 repository packages are unaffected, so administrators should check which repository configuration they actually use.

Why it matters

A working package download can hide the fact that a repository has stopped delivering future fixes.

More context

The maintainers advise updating to a newer operating-system minor release or using the archive. Their repository-package page generates archive configuration for the chosen distribution, architecture and PostgreSQL version. Check pinned repository URLs before planning the next database maintenance window.

Keep in mind

This concerns specific distribution-minor-version repositories, not retirement of every PostgreSQL package on RHEL 9 or 10. The archive preserves access rather than continued updates.
