Cloudflare Basin brings its Iceberg analytics services to general availability

Cloudflare’s data platform is now generally available under the Basin name. Pipelines ingests and transforms events, Catalog manages Apache Iceberg tables in R2, and SQL queries those tables. The open table format lets compatible external engines access the same data, so ingestion, storage and analysis do not have to use a single vendor’s query engine.

Why it matters

Teams can evaluate a managed analytics pipeline while retaining access through the Iceberg ecosystem.

More context

Try the official tutorial with a small event stream and an external Iceberg-compatible reader. The services can be adopted separately through a Cloudflare account; ingestion, storage and query usage still incur charges.

Keep in mind

General availability does not imply complete SQL or Iceberg feature coverage. Full DDL and Iceberg V3 support remain future work in the announcement. 1min has not tested performance or portability.
