Streamline separates long-running video processing from its control requests
Cloudflare’s Streamline playground demonstrates custom video pipelines with a Go control server and FFmpeg inside a container. Workers expose controls, while a Durable Object coordinates the session and previews. Processing continues when the controlling client disconnects, with a maximum duration to prevent abandoned sessions running forever. This earlier release is a reference architecture for experimentation, not a promise of production-ready video operations.

Why it matters
Long-running media work needs a lifecycle independent of the request that starts it.
More context
Try the local Docker mode before a Cloudflare deployment. The tutorial covers annotations and transformed streams; local mode is single-user and omits the remote deployment’s access controls.
Keep in mind
The example’s deployment, authorization and resource costs still need assessment for your own application.
