DEsk turns a Wayland desktop into a literal desk
DEsk is a Linux Wayland desktop where windows look like paper, the dock becomes a drawer, and notifications arrive in a post box. Its ray-traced room shares one lighting model, while established Linux programs handle jobs such as network settings and files. The current 0.1.2 release is beta: an interesting interface experiment, with rough edges explicitly expected.
DEsk
Why it matters
The architecture draws a useful boundary between a custom interaction model and reused system components.
More context
Try it in a disposable Linux environment first. The project documents distribution installers and wlroots 0.18 requirements. No original release date was established, so this is a project discovery rather than a dated launch claim.
Keep in mind
Beta status and platform dependencies make it unsuitable as an unquestioned replacement for a working desktop.
